Regulatory Affairs Seminar 11 – 13 October 2021

By October 14, 2021November 5th, 2021No Comments

This year’s RAWP Seminar has taken place this week face to face in the wonderful city of Liverpool. Members were able to access key speakers from MedTech Europe and MHRA discussing a wealth of key IVD Regulatory related topics including IVDR timelines, UKCA implementation updates and discussions, new MHRA UK Legislation discussions, DEFRA, HSE and impact analysis.  They were also able to access further guest speaker updates from BSI and numerous IVDR impact analysis and interpretation workshops.

(Can you spot the difference?) A clue… look closely at the Chairs of the RAWP.

It was good to welcome so many new and old faces from many UK, Multi-National companies and SMEs from across the sector and certainly provided a key opportunity for numerous Q&A sessions that certainly struck up some necessary and lively debate as there is so much hitting our industry not only in the past 18 months but also the journey for the next few years.

The breakout sessions were particularly popular and were hosted by Companies with expertise on the topics in Software, CDx, Literature Reviews, SS&P / PSUR and Near Patient Testing and Self Tests.  As always there was plenty of opportunity to engage in the anonymous polls to gauge industry feedback and this information will be collated and shared with all members and relayed to the MHRA and relevant industry bodies and raised by the Senior BIVDA team in their discussions with MPs etc over the coming weeks.  So action in motion is certainly the results of our keen Regulatory Members input.

To round this event off there was a superb dinner event kindly hosted by the Shankly Hotel and sponsored by QServe with panoramic views of the city and a light hearted Quiz event that certainly got us all on our feet and thinking!  Prizes to the James Shearn Team again this year, so they will need to be challenged next year!

If any further members wish to join the RAWP please let Natalie know as we still have spaces spare for those interested as we have our Christmas Event on the 17 December shortly and look forward to seeing many of you there.
