DHSC have provided the following update for stakeholders:

The DHSC Medical Technologies Directorate is hosting a webinar on Monday 6 March 2023 at 11:00 – 12:00 to promote the newly published Medical Technology Strategy which was shared with you on 3 February 2023 (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/medical-technology-strategy).

The Government’s inaugural Medical Technology Strategy sets out how we will ensure the health and social care system can reliably access safe, effective, and innovative medical technologies that support the continued delivery of high-quality care, outstanding patient safety and excellent patient outcomes in a way that makes the best use of taxpayer money.

The webinar will be chaired by David Lawson, DHSC Director for Medical Technology, who will be joined by:

  • Matt Whitty – Chief Executive of the AAC and Director of NHS Innovation, Research and Life Sciences, NHS England
  • Mark Chapman – Interim Director of Medical Technology and Digital Evaluation, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)
  • Luella Trickett – Director, Value & Access, Association of HealthTech Industries (ABHI)
  • Doris-Ann Williams – Chief Executive, The British In Vitro Diagnostic Association (BIVDA)

The panel will be discussing the strategy and what it means for the wider medtech sector, this will be followed by a Q&A session.  Therefore if you have any questions for the panel ahead of time please submit them via the registration form below.
