DEFRA have launched EPR – Report Packaging Data (RPD) service to allow organisations to enrol and submit their EPR data for packaging. This new service is open to compliance scheme groups from 14 August and to large producers from 16 August. This can be accessed here. DEFRA have also released a spreadsheet which is available to producers if they wish to generate a packaging data file. This can be found here. The following notification was sent out by DEFRA:
Large producers who are obligated under Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations are required to report their packaging data to the appropriate regulator in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Obligated large producers and compliance schemes are required to create an account on the new Report Packaging Data (RPD) service, so they can enrol and submit their packaging data.
The new RPD service opened to compliance scheme groups from today (Monday 14 August 2023) and will be available for large producers from Wednesday 16 August 2023.
To support organisations with the process of collecting and reporting data, we have published bite-sized how-to guide videos. These guides have been produced in conjunction with the regulators. The first set can be found on YouTube:
We will be publishing further video guides soon.
There will be a session on the RPD service at the next Business Readiness Forum on Tuesday 5 September 2023 – register here.

Based on feedback from industry, we have provided clarifications to our data specification guidance. These clarifications don’t change the way you need to collect and report your data.
