Import risk categories for animals and animal products imported from the EU to Great Britain, from 31 October 2023
Import risk categories under the Border Target Operating Model (TOM) for animals or animal products you’re importing from the EU to Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales), and the import rules for each category.
We’ve added some extra informati on to the Target Operating Model (TOM) risk categories for animal and animal product imports. We’ve added more detail about how live aquatic animals and wild caught fish are categorised.We’ve also added further commodities and clarifications to the following tables:- Table 3b. Current issues relating to imports and exports of animals and animal products.
From 26 May 2023: Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) has suspended the import of bees, apiculture products and used beekeeping equipment from Réunion, an overseas territory of France. Great Britain has resumed the export of fresh meat and by-products of ungulates from FMD-free areas of Botswana to England, Scotland and Wales. Scotland has amended their declaration of special measures for small hive beetle in Calabria, Italy.
Institutes, centres and premises in Great Britain approved to move animals, semen and embryos covered by the Balai Directive.
We have updated the approval date for the Peak Wildlife Park.
