By April 22, 2022No Comments

BIVDA’s 2nd Sustainability Seminar will be taking place in the afternoon of Thursday 9th June 2022 from 13.30-16.30.

The NHS announced its ambitions to become the world’s first ‘net-zero’ health service by 2040, last year, COP26 saw all UK health services committed to becoming net-zero and building on climate resilience through the COP26 Health Programme.

BIVDA’s Sustainability programme helps members to tackle issues like net zero, biodiversity, and climate resilience head on through organisational, cultural and technological changes and developments.

To do this, open engagement with stakeholders and industry discussion is necessary to discover and develop best practice and working towards mutual goals for the NHS and the devolved administrations to meet and exceed the requirements for implementing carbon reduction plans and the Social Value Model for public contracting authorities.

BIVDA is therefore continuing with our commitment to Sustainability by holding our second seminar, building on the foundations of the programme launch in September 2021.

This event will have speakers from NHS England talk about the Evergreen Framework and what is being done to reach the NHS net-zero targets, along with a workshop session on innovation challenges from UK CPI. Members will also see the formal launch of BIVDA’s Sustainability Hub for all the resources and guidance being made available to them to reach the shared goals across healthcare in the UK.

This will be an in-person event following the Procurement Working Party in the morning.

The event will be in central London, with the venue to be confirmed shortly. To reserve your space, please REGISTER HERE FOR THE SUSTAINABILITY SEMINAR

Lunch will be provided, and places are limited. Last year’s event was fully booked, even though it was BIVDA’s first in person event as we tentatively came out of COVID-19 lockdowns.

COVID-19 measures will still be considered at all BIVDA’s events.

Please look out for further details and book your place to reserve your spot!
