This is a thorough review of the Bill and can include involvement of experts in the field. Amendments will be proposed by MPs throughout which may change the existing wording of the Bill.
This Bill aims to introduce a dual regulatory regime allowing both EU-compliant (CE marking) and GB-compliant products (UKCA marking) onto the market in Northern Ireland.
The Department of Health and Social Care has issued a questionnaire to understand views on this dual regulatory possibility, including benefits and issues that could arise.
We encourage members to complete this questionnaire and return it to mdcc-contingencyplanning@dhsc.gov.uk by 2 August.
There is likely to be a delay in the process of Parliament reviewing the bill as they are now in Parliamentary recess until 5 September.
