At a Privy Council meeting this week His Majesty The King agreed to a prorogation order that states that Parliament will be prorogued in advance of the King’s Speech at some time between Thursday 26 October and Tuesday 31 October. Clarification on the precise date will be released soon.
This will last until the King’s Speech on 7 November.
The King’s Speech is the speech that the King reads out in the Lords Chamber on the occasion of the State Opening of Parliament. It sets out the programme of legislation that the Government intend to pursue in the forthcoming parliamentary session.
We will, of course, keep abreast of any key announcements in the speech which affect our industry.
