The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and Department of Health and Social Care have released the 2022 Life Science Competitiveness Indicators report.
The LSCI report monitors performance indicators against peer countries, and covers diagnostic technology utilisation & availability among other metrics.
The ministerial forward from Lord Syed Kamall and Lord Callanan (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Business, Energy and Corporate Responsibility)) references achievements in the life sciences sector over the past year, including clinical research delivery plans, Data Saves Lives Strategy and the Life Sciences Innovative Manufacturing Fund (LSIMF) & the expanding Community Diagnostic Centre network.
The eighth annual report includes life sciences data on research and production environments, domestic market, access to skilled labour and international collaboration. It is a useful snapshot of the progression of UK life sciences in comparison with other nations, and how the uptake of diagnostic technologies, and their availability stack up against other health systems.
