Moving Forward in Infection Diagnostics: defining and communicating clinical need

By June 23, 2023No Comments

This event will take place on Tuesday the 3rd October 2023 and will be hosted at the Leeds Nexus.  The event is being organised by NHS England and the Leeds NIHR BRC in conjunction with BIVDA and ABHI. It will bring together a broad range of expertise in infection diagnostics from across patient groups, community, primary and secondary care to define the clinical need and to inform discussions with Industry.

NHS England’s AMR Diagnostics team at the Office of the Chief Scientific Officer, in collaboration with the NIHR Innovation Observatory, has carried out a comprehensive horizon scan to examine potential infection diagnostic innovations across the development spectrum from proof of concept through to CE-marked tests.

Alongside this work, the team has also mapped the clinical pathway for urinary tract infections, sepsis and lower respiratory tract infections to determine the challenging points where innovations were most required in the NHS.

Together, these pieces of work demonstrate a need to clearly define clinical need to inform diagnostic development and for strengthening the dialogue between the NHS and industry partners.

Professor Sir Chris Whitty the Chief Medical Officer for England will be opening the event. Your expertise and involvement in these discussions will be hugely invaluable and we would be very grateful if you could save Tuesday the 3rd October 2023 in your diary to attend this exciting event at the Leeds Nexus building.

Please note there will be limited spaces for this event and is by invitation only. If your organisation would like to attend then please RSVP by email to Doris-Ann with the name and specific interest in attending.

Please note that only one delegate per company will be permitted and as numbers are limited it is possible that there may have to be a waiting list for delegates. Further information including an agenda and directions to the venue to follow.
