Dr MaryAnn Ferreux announced as BIVDA EDI Summit keynote speaker

We are delighted to be able to announce our keynote guest speaker Dr MaryAnn Ferreux, Chief Medical Officer for the Health Innovation Network Kent, Surrey and Sussex at the EDI summit on Tuesday 30th April in London.

MaryAnn is also a Non-Executive Director for the Kent and Medway NHS Social Care Partnership Trust. She has 20 years of clinical experience working across both the Australian and UK health system, with specialist qualifications in health system leadership, management, and population health. She has held Board level roles as a medical leader in both primary and secondary care and is passionate about improving the patient experience and delivering better integrated care.

She holds a number of Fellowships that include the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, Australasian College of Health Service Management, the UK Faculty of Clinical Informatics and Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, as well as being a Certified Health Executive and accredited organisational coach. She has a special interest in researching health equity and the impact of the social determinants of health; her current doctoral studies will explore health inequalities in the Southeast of England.

She is leading on a number of initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion in healthcare and is a Trustee and Chair of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Committee. MaryAnn is committed to using her position to role-model an inclusive leadership approach whereby she supports, mentors and coaches people from disadvantaged backgrounds to widen participation in medicine and increase diversity within health leadership.

The summit will be held on the 30 April in the BIVDA offices, with limited places still available.
