It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you after joining BIVDA on the 15th November as Policy Officer. I have been looking forward to it and am delighted they appointed me to join their team.
My first week has been filled with many exciting challenges and I am very fortunate to have been expertly guided by new colleagues throughout. I have already begun the process of building an extensive stakeholder map; familiarising myself with the latest news, developments and research in the IVD sector; and summarising policy papers.
I joined BIVDA having worked as a Parliamentary Researcher for Adam Holloway MP, which will hopefully aid me well when navigating the tricky and devilish world of politics in service of the BIVDA membership. In previous years I have worked in NHS administration – exposing me to both the marvels and frustrations of the NHS. Undoubtedly, this experience has instilled a passion for seeking innovative solutions to both emerging and existing public health challenges, which I am sure is shared by all BIVDA members.
While I have only been at BIVDA a matter of days, it is my goal to have a significant impact upon BIVDA’s scope and reach in the coming months and years. At the top of my agenda is increasing BIVDA’s influence among current prominent stakeholders and ably supporting my colleagues in the form of research and briefings.
I am eagerly looking forward to meeting you all in the next few months, whether in the office or at events. Please feel free to contact me to discuss any matters or to inform me of how I can best serve you as a member – as a keen foot soldier, I am more than happy to assist!
