BIVDA supports women in STEM through the ‘COVID Unsung Heroes Awards’

By December 9, 2021No Comments

The ‘COVID Unsung Heroes Awards’ is an initiative being led to spotlight the extraordinary contribution made by women in the STEM space during the COVID-19 pandemic. BIVDA is delighted to support this excellent opportunity to recognise the efforts of women during these unprecedented times who strove to help improve lives and health outcomes.

There are several award categories for these fantastic unsung heroes including: the WISE tech award, the WISE new educator award, the WISE data solution award and the WISE community champion award. The awards campaign itself is being managed and run by WISE, an organisation that strives to be leaders in creating positive cultural change within the STEM sectors and desire to partner with organisations who want to make a difference.

BIVDA has been actively promoting the awards through our social media channels, and encourage our member companies to do so too. Don’t forget the #CUHA22 hashtag in your posts!

Please see the below steps for nominating a stand-out female hero for an award. The deadline for nominations is 31 December 2021.

Step 1: Complete the online nomination form

Step 2: The Nominee will receive a digital certificate confirming they have been nominated for an award

Step 3:  Shout about your nomination and the difference that’s been made by your hero on social media; check out the media toolkit if you need some inspiration

Step 4:  Keep an eye out for award updates; award winners will be notified at the end of January 2022

Step 5:  Award winners will be invited to an exclusive VIP drinks reception for finalists, sponsors and prominent members of the WISE network in Central London in March 2022.
