BIVDA were proud to participate in the Innovate UK AMR Inward Mission 2024 last week.

Held over the last week with events in Glasgow, Alderley Edge, and finally at the Maxwell Centre, University of Cambridge, the inward mission was a unique opportunity for organisations around the world to visit AMR hotspots in the UK and to meet with others working in this field.

The result was an interesting and intensive programme of networking, matchmaking and showcasing events which allowed overseas delegates to get an insight into the UK’s AMR ecosystem.

Delegates from several countries attended, covering diagnostics, vaccine, and antimicrobial technologies, and shared experiences and collaborative opportunities.

Jayne Ellis, BIVDA Scientific Advisor on AMR, attended and presented in Cambridge on ‘Placing Diagnostics at the Heart of AMR’, outlining the opportunities and challenges for AMR diagnostics, which BIVDA is championing.

A wonderful evening reception was held on Thursday evening at Trinity College Cambridge, hosted by the UK Special Envoy on AMR Professor Dame Sally Davies. At the spectacular venue, Dame Sally reflected on achievements to date, and shared her aspirations for the upcoming UN General Assembly High-Level meeting on AMR in New York in September.
