BIVDA hosts first Springboard Programme 2024 event

By February 14, 2024No Comments

BIVDA’s Springboard Programme kicked off in style earlier this month, with our inaugural meeting hosted at the XandWhy Workspace in Chiswick, West London.

What is the Springboard Programme I hear you cry?

Well, the BIVDA Springboard Programme has been developed to provide guidance to our innovative new member companies by offering support to grow and develop through collaborating and connecting with industry experts.

Lucy Lehane, BIVDA’s Innovation Programme Lead says “Springboard has been designed to help build industry and market knowledge through developing networks and supporting connections. I am excited to lead the delivery of the programme for 2024, and I am inspired by the great collaborations that have already started!”.

The Springboard Programme is powered by Barclays Eagle Labs which is an exciting partnership that will provide a wealth of support to startup businesses, particularly those who are focused on technology and innovation. Having the Barclays Eagle Labs support for our Springboard Programme in 2024 provides great opportunities to receive a range of support services including access to expertise, mentors and funding opportunities from potential investors via the Barclays Eagle Labs Demo Directory.

The Springboard Kick Off Day brought Springboard companies and Collaborators together to meet each other and share introductions. We were pleased to welcome representatives from MHRA, Innovate UK, Department of Business and Trade, NHS England, UKHSA, The National Measurement Laboratory, Health Innovation Networks (HIN) and BSI. In the afternoon, we spent time in smaller discussion groups, which allowed everyone to ask questions and learn from the different collaborator groups.

We received extremely good feedback, with one Springboard collaborator remarking, “Just wanted to get in touch and say thanks again for the chance to be involved in the Springboard Kick-off yesterday. It was a great event and just from the level of engagement and conversations I had, I think people really see a lot of value in it.”

While a Springboard company commented, “Great meeting last week, Some incredibly valuable exchanges already!”.

Throughout 2024 we will be running face to face masterclasses and online meetings for the Springboard Programme, helping BIVDA to support our member companies to succeed in this ever-changing environment.

Successful Innovation is key for our Industry to develop and keep delivering new products and services – with the Springboard Programme we will aim to provide tailored services and support to help guide our member companies to overcome some of the potential barriers and key challenges they may be facing on their path to achieving commercial success.
