BIVDA host Spring Sustainability Seminar

By May 1, 2024No Comments

We were delighted to welcome an amazing group of speakers to our Spring Sustainability Seminar.

We heard from the Wales, Scotland and England Sustainability Leads about each of their sustainable targets, roadmaps and supplier requirements. It was interesting to hear how they align and compare in their approaches.

Thank you to Alexandra Hammond, NHS England, Stevie McLaughlin, National Services Scotland and Aled Guy, Welsh Health Supplies provided said talks.

Heidi Barnard from NHSSC was able to send us a pre-recorded talk to update us on the ‘5 Supplier Asks’  which included guidance around Modern Slavery and Social Value questions in tenders.

We also welcomed Rob Shorten from the Association for Laboratory Medicine, who delivered an insightful talk about the challenges of sustainability in the Pathology Lab. It was interesting to hear the great efforts hospitals are already making in this area and we had an interesting conversation with members on how industry can engage and collaborate.

Thank you to all our valuable members who also attended and for the great conversations we were able to have exploring the challenges and more importantly how collaboratively we all can work towards solutions.

Our Autumn Sustainability Seminar is Tuesday 22 October, make sure to sign-up here.
