AMS Cross-sector Experience Award Scheme

By February 14, 2024No Comments

As part of the Academy of Medical Sciences’ Cross-Sector Programme, the Academy is offering competitive funding through their new scheme: Cross-Sector Experience Awards. This funding scheme, offering up to £100,000, is targeted at those who want to experience working in a different organisation to their own, to develop their understanding of a new sector, gain additional skills and foster new collaborations.

Eligible individuals will be able to work in a new organisation, from a different sector to that of their current employer, for between three to twelve months.

The partner organisation, where the applicant will be working during their award, will be able to bring someone new into their team who has different  skills, fresh innovative ideas, and a new perspective to system challenges coming from a different sector.

The deadline for applications is 29 February 2024, 16:00 (GMT), and they welcome applications from individuals across the sectors, including yourselves or your colleagues.

Further information about the scheme including how to apply as an individual,  and what the role of the partner organisation is can be found via this link.

I’m not sure about this part – it’s making quite a big promise, not all award holders will bring that to their partner organisation, eg if they come from academia or charity sector  [GC2]
