COVID Antigen & Molecular test laboratory validation consultation
On Tuesday Steve Lee (ABHI) and Doris-Ann again co-hosted a webinar to discuss this consultation which is only open until the end of September – the aim was to hear from members and to develop an aligned response from industry.
Thank you to everyone who gave us great input – we were agreed that the validation process was not resoundingly favoured by the IVD industry and Doris-Ann will be making the points on Monday at a round table which Lord Bethell is chairing.
We hope to get a group together again before the consultation deadline. Meanwhile we would urge all BIVDA members, not just those involved in infectious disease testing, to respond to questions 41, 42 and 43 which refer to future expansion of the validation scheme to include other reportable pathogens – we have some grave concerns about where this could lead if unchecked. You can respond just to part of the consultation, you don’t have to answer all 85 questions.
