The new Community Diagnostic Centres will help cut waiting lists and provide more than 742,000 extra checks, tests, and scans once they are fully operational, according to government estimates.
The new CDCs expected this year include:
- Scarborough Gateway which will deliver an extra 91,000 checks a year;
- Scarborough (Ripon) which will deliver an extra 27,000 checks a year;
- Oldham (South East Manchester) which will deliver an extra 129,000 checks a year;
- Manchester and Trafford (North Manchester) which will deliver an extra 41,000 checks a year;
- Clacton (Bluebird Lodge) which will deliver an extra 24,000 checks a year;
- Plymouth which will deliver an extra 89,000 checks a year;
- North Lincolnshire (Grimsby) which will deliver an extra 142,000 checks a year;
- Hull and East Riding which will deliver an extra 199,000 checks a year.
Except for the one in Plymouth, which will open in September, all of the aforementioned facilities are scheduled to open in December.
