Assessing chemicals in groups has continued to speed up identification of substances for which regulatory risk management may be required. In 2022 EU authorities opened assessments of 2 000 substances in 61 groups.
We have published opinions of the Committee for Risk Assessment on restriction proposals for:
N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC) and 1-ethylpyrrolidin-2-one (NEP) (EC: -) submitted by the Netherlands
Reports for the following substance groups are now available on our website:
If you have questions or feedback related to the assessment work, you can send them to us using this webform.
One proposal has been submitted for:
• Acetophenone (EC 202-708-7, CAS 98-86-2)
We are looking for comments on the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposal for:
- N-1,3-dimethylbutyl-N’-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine (EC 212-344-0, CAS 793-24-8)
- thymol; 5-methyl-2-(propan-2-yl)phenol (EC 201-944-8, CAS 89-83-8)
For thymol; 5-methyl-2-(propan-2-yl)phenol, the proposal format combines the draft (renewal) assessment report prepared according to the Plant Protection Products Regulation and the proposal for CLH under the CLP regulation. For additional information, consult the European Commission’s Guidelines on Active Substances and Plant Protection Products.
For more information on this active substance and on the studies included in the CLH report, consult the draft assessment report on the European Food Safety Authority’s consultation website.
