Dear Members, reminder that the EU ECGT (Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition) legislation which modifies the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive 2005/29/EC should be transposed to national law by 27th March 2026, and applies from 27th September 2026. This will apply to products sold to consumers.
The legislation aims to provide consumers with better durability and repairability information and bans the use of vague environmental claims that can not be backed up with evidence.
