Certain material types may be used by members, and there may not be suitable alternatives available at the moment. Sectorial legislation requires that IVD packaging protects devices, maintains performance, and avoids contamination for patient safety.
As such use of multi-laminate materials including sterile barriers (protection from light, moisture, atmosphere, contamination from particulates and or microbes, or treated cardboard (suitable for cold chain applications), or use of borosilicate glass or brown bottles (light protection) may be required.
