OHID Consultation – Vitamin D: call for evidence

By April 8, 2022May 20th, 2022No Comments

This call for evidence seeks views on how to improve the vitamin D status of the population in England, in line with existing recommendations, as well as addressing associated health disparities and improving health outcomes through maximising the benefits of vitamin D.

The government welcomes engagement from any individual, organisation or business with views on improving the vitamin D status of the population in England, reducing associated health disparities and improving health outcomes.

While the government namechecks improving vitamin D levels through diet several times in the consultation, it is recommended that relevant members highlight the need for targeted testing too, so that the role of diagnostics is not dismissed.

To add your feedback to the BIVDA-led response, please email Ben. Alternatively, you can participate by completing this Government survey.

This call for evidence will run for 6 weeks, starting from 3 April and ending on 15 May 2022.

Full details of the consultation can be found here.
