DHSC Consultation – Healthcare regulation: deciding when statutory regulation is appropriate

The Department of Health and Social Care have published a consultation on when statutory regulation should be required for healthcare professions.

This consultation is as of a result of a previous consultation which committed to reviewing the current situation around regulated and unregulated healthcare professionals.

This consultation seeks views on:
• the proposed criteria to make decisions on which professions should be regulated
• whether there are regulated professions that no longer require statutory regulation
• whether there are unregulated professions that should be brought into statutory regulation

What do I need to do?
BIVDA intends to provide a response to this consultation on behalf of members. Therefore, please provide your opinions and comments to Ashleigh Batchen by 24 March to allow for a response to be drafted.
