The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) (Amendment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2023 amends the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007 which sets annual business targets for the recycling of packaging waste and apply to all businesses that produce or use packaging. These Regulations impose on producers obligations to recycle packaging waste in order to attain overall recycling and material-specific recycling targets.
This regulation will come into force on 1 January 2024 and apply to England and Wales only.
