Advancing Direct Patient Input in Real-World Data and Evidence (RWE) Generation
MDIC’s Science of Patient Input program has released a new framework to help the medical device community strengthen patient perspectives in real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) generation. The Direct Patient Input in Real World Data Framework is designed to guide manufacturers in collecting, using, and standardizing patient input from early product development through post-market surveillance.
By incorporating a comprehensive set of patient input sources—from EHRs and claims data to registries and patient-generated insights—this work supports more informed regulatory submissions and better patient outcomes .
