BIVDA would like to update members on a number of changes to working party chairs and vice chairs.
Regulatory Affairs Working Party
Alison Gilles, Leica BioSystems, steps up at the Regulatory Affairs Working Party as Vice Chair, meaning that we’re back to full complement.
UKCA Subgroup
Emma Barringer is moving from chairing the Environmental WP to chairing the UKCA Subgroup. This better reflects her skills and knowledge, and is good news as a strong lead is required at this critical point over the next couple of years as we work through the MHRA proposals.
This still leaves us with a vacancy to co-chair the UKCA subgroup, so if you have a particular focus on the UK and the ongoing changes from MHRA Fess to the new Medical/IVD Device legislation proposals, then please put your name forward for the Vice-Chair position.
Environmental Working Party
With Emma Barringer taking over the role of chairing the UKCA subgroup, this leaves a vacancy for the Chair of the Environmental Working Party. Emma Cooper remains as Vice Chair, but is currently on extended leave and will return in September. So for any members with an interest in Environmental, Sustainability, and Chemicals Legislation, please put your names forward to chair our Environmental WP.
Again, this is a period of extended change both in terms of UK legislation, EU and global legislation and is therefore an attractive prospect for someone who is keen to make an impact in this area.
The outstanding vacancies are as follows:
- UKCA Sub-group Vice-Chair
- Environmental WP Chair
If you’d like to find out more, then please get in touch or send your nominations to Neil.Plumridge@bivda.org.uk.
To do this, please send a short statement as to why you’d like to be considered and a brief CV of relevant experience. A job description and working party terms of reference will also be shared.
In the event of multiple nominees, we will circulate the details to the working party members and ask them to vote. Otherwise, if there are no objections, nominees will take up post from the next meeting,
