Winter Sustainability Seminar speaker profiles: Jennifer Collins and Donna Dibbert

BIVDA’s Winter Sustainability Seminar kicks off on Tuesday 22nd October between 10am – 4pm and will provide members with vital updates and tools to help them with their ongoing sustainability journey. You can see the agenda and sign-up here.

In the lead-up to the event, we will be profiling the speakers at the seminar. In this article, we will introduce you to Jennifer and Donna Dibbert.

 

Jennifer Collins

BIVDA are delighted to welcome Jennifer Collins; Microbiology & Virology Laboratory Manager – Newcastle Hospitals and IBMS Council Representative to the Autumn Sustainability Seminar.

Jennifer will be presenting on: Pathology Laboratories Accreditation Schemes

Sustainability criteria are being driven in the pathology laboratories through the NHS England maturity matrix which has to be achieved by 2025, and there are also different accreditation schemes available for clinicians to use, including LEAF, EFLM, ISO 14001 and My Green Lab.

Our expert panel will explain the different schemes, how they are being assessed and how suppliers can help them meet their goals.

Jennifer is a Laboratory Manager at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with 37 years’ experience in Biomedical Science. She manages a large team of approx. 100 staff who process >1.5 million patient samples per year. Jennifer is also the North East IBMS Council representative. She has previously sat on the IBMS Specialist Advisory Panel and has been an Examiner for Higher Specialist Diploma (HSD).

 

Donna Dibbert

BIVDA are delighted to welcome Donna Dibbert, MPS Sustainability and Social Value Manager, Siemens Healthineers to the Autumn Sustainability Seminar.

Donna will be presenting on: The Art and Importance of Collaboration

The session will be a combination of a presentation and discussion /workshop to understand what we mean by collaboration, similarities and differences to teamwork, some frameworks to offer improved collaboration and an interactive exercise to practice the framework in real life.

Donna has worked within diagnostics for 30 years covering various roles. Including, sales, sales training, change management, executive coach, systemic team coach, lean practitioner and now manages social value and sustainability for Siemens Healthineers

Her passion is the engagement and unleashing of the power of people to drive business forward sustainably and profitably.

Ben Kemp
