In the lead-up to the event, we will be profiling the speakers at the seminar. In this article, we will introduce you to Alexandra Hammond and Jason Thompson.
Alexandra Hammond
Alexandra is Associate Director, Net Zero and Sustainable Procurement at NHS England, where she leads the team responsible for delivering a net zero Carbon Footprint Plus for the NHS. She was recognised in 2024 as being the 5th most influential woman in procurement by ‘Procurement Magazine’.
Alex will be presenting on:
NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap – Scope 3 Are members ready?
The NHS England Net Zero and Sustainable Procurement team is currently engaging industry and wider stakeholders on the approach to reporting and target setting for scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions, as set out in the ambitions of the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap. This session will be a conversation between BIVDA members and NHS England to discuss challenges and opportunities to progress on delivery of a net zero NHS.
Jason Thompson
Jason has 20 years’ experience in the IVD field, starting with R&D for a new device, and moving into the quality and regulatory side more recently. He has been Quality and Regulatory Manager at Launch for the last 6 years, overseeing the changes brought about by the IVDR, Brexit, and public procurement changes and their impact on the distributor. Involvement in the tender response process has shown up just how much the entire sustainability journey has to be collaborative across the supply chain.
Jason will be one of 3 member companies presenting on:
Sustainability – Members share their experiences
Three of our member companies will share experience on their respective sustainability journeys.
How it has developed and been embedded in their organisations, their successes and challenges, how they are meeting the regulatory requirements and how they engage and collaborate with the wider supply chain and external stakeholders.
