
The PEOPLE AMR Network are excited to announce small grants call for EMCRs, offering up to £144,000 to support innovative, transdisciplinary projects tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Researchers are able to apply for up to £36,000 to support pump-priming studies, evidence synthesis and other activities aligned with our mission to promote prudent antimicrobial use in the community.
The Projects will need to:
- Fit within the scope of the PEOPLE AMR network
- Be transdisciplinary, spanning at least three research council disciplines
- Address a clear evidence gap in AMR/AMS
- Be led by researchers at a UK university, including early- and mid-career researchers and PhD students.
- Run for up to 15 months and be completed by December 2027.
The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday 30th January 2026.
To support researchers to apply for this small grant scheme they will be hosting two workshops in Oxford and Manchester this November.
These workshops will allow transdisciplinary researchers to come together to develop research questions and applications for the small grants scheme. The workshops will be facilitated by our partner FutureEverything who are experienced in supporting researchers to apply for funding.

These workshops are designed to help EMCRs:
- Refine project ideas and develop high-quality research proposals for the small grants scheme.
- Receive structured guidance on preparing applications.
- Build connections through transdisciplinary networking and mentoring.
Please note:
- Places are limited. If interest exceeds capacity, selection will be made to ensure a balance of expertise, disciplines and organisational representation.
- Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
- Travel (up to £150) can be reimbursed per attendee to cover travel expenses and where necessary, one night’s accommodation for those travelling significant distances.
