Known by the sector as an influential agent for positive change, Saghar is Managing Director of North West London Pathology (NWLP) an NHS pathology organisation based in London delivering a single, integrated pathology service for the seven hospitals of Imperial College Healthcare Trust, Hillingdon Hospital Trust, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. NWLP is one of the largest pathology providers in the UK.
In 2018, Saghar assumed the role of Managing Director at NWLP, spearheading a comprehensive transformation programme that reached successful fruition within a remarkable four-year timeframe. Her leadership was pivotal in establishing the organisation’s visionary principles, core values, and a compelling new employee proposition.
Under Saghar’s leadership, NWLP has achieved significant recognition, becoming a multi-award winning organisation for national and international awards both within the public and private sector. In 2024, Saghar won Gold for Leader of the Year at the UK Employee Experience Awards.
Saghar, a Biomedical Scientist by background, has an Executive MBA and holds a Professional Doctorate in Biomedical Science as well as a Chartered Manager, a Fellow of Chartered Management Institute. With a rich professional history, Saghar has contributed significantly to both the NHS and private sector laboratories. She has also held the crucial role of Regional Diagnostic Lead for Midlands and East at NHSE.
Over a decade of executive-level experience defines Saghar’s career, where she has significant expertise in training and development, quality and governance, and operational management. Her prior accomplishments extend to the successful implementation of multi-million pound transformation programmes in two distinct pathology organisations.
