The BIVDA AGM will be held on Wednesday 26 March 2025 and new members of the Executive Board are announced at this meeting.
The BIVDA Executive Board comprises 12 elected members, who serve for a period of three years. Retiring individuals may be nominated for a further term. This year there will six places available for election, who can be from either Full or Associate Member companies, voted for by our members.
This is your opportunity to influence the future direction of BIVDA either through self-nomination or by putting forward a candidate who will be able to represent industry needs, guide BIVDA’s strategic direction, and support governance for the Secretariat.
As well as assisting BIVDA, Board members have access to the highest levels of engagement on issues such as regulation and market access and will be working closely with other senior industry professionals. Board members may be asked to attend industry and government meetings as appropriate, representing BIVDA and the sector with high level stakeholders. The role provides an excellent CPD opportunity and real value for the member’s organisation.
The nomination form is attached, which must be accepted and signed by the candidate. BIVDA requires that anyone standing for election is in a senior leadership role and has the knowledge and agreement of their employer to do so. A reference may be requested.
Nominees are asked to provide a supporting statement of approximately 300-500 words and a photograph. This should detail your current position and expertise and what you would contribute to the governance of BIVDA over the next three years. This abstract will be included with the voting papers to assist BIVDA members to select the best candidates to elect for the Executive Board.
In accordance with the Articles of Association, completed forms should be returned to Helen by Wednesday 26 February 2025 at 17.00 in order that voting papers may be circulated and returned on the day prior to the AGM which is being held on Wednesday 26 March at One Great George Street, London.
Please consider this opportunity carefully. With the NHS’s Ten-Year Plan under development and substantial NHS reforms planned, there is a generational opportunity for BIVDA to shape the role of IVDs in the health system. It is more critical than ever for BIVDA to represent the industry accurately and robustly, and our board play a key role in supporting these activities.
Prospective candidates are welcome to have an informal conversation with me.
