
We would like to draw members’ attention to NIHR’s UTI Diagnostic Innovation Workshop on Monday, 09 February 2026, 10am to 4pm in Oxford.
This workshop will offer an opportunity for innovators to network, connect and receive guidance from leading experts in urinary tract infection diagnosis and diagnostics evidence generation. It will also help to support your development in improving the diagnosis of urinary tract infections in acute care settings.
You will gain:
- Individual multi-disciplinary feedback sessions on your technology from NHS clinical and clinical laboratory specialists, clinical researchers, experts in evaluation methodology and patients with lived experience of UTI
- Expert guidance on evidence requirements, regulatory pathways, and funding routes
- Direct insights into current NHS challenges and priorities for diagnosis and management of UTI
- Valuable networking with key stakeholders in UTI diagnostic innovation

Individual innovators will have the opportunity to meet with a group of experts which may include (depending on your needs) primary care/infectious disease clinicians, clinical laboratory scientists, patients, and methodologists specialised in qualitative, statistical or health economic analysis, who can provide feedback.
15.00 – Diagnostic development journey – Panel Discussion
Innovators will share their experiences of developing diagnostics, alongside a panel of experts, with discussion and Q&A.
