
NHS Supply Chain have launched a new Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for Medical Technology: Medical Technology Innovation DPS.
Innovative products are defined as ones that meet an unmet need or provides improvements upon existing models of care with the end-goal of benefiting the system, patients and/or care providers.
IVDR products/tests (Pathology and Point of Care) are included on the category list.
The purpose of the DPS is to:
- provide a compliant route to the market for innovative products and enable end users a route to purchase
- increase the speed and access of these innovative products to market
- improve patient outcomes
To participate in the tender, suppliers must already have one of the below:
- a Unique reference number (URN) as provided by either the NHS Innovation service portal or the HIN health innovation network or NHS SC Innovation Team
- National Policy from NHSE or DHSC
- NICE Guidance

The tender is currently live and can be accessed through the NHS SC purchasing portal Jaggaer. The deadline is currently set for 02/02/2024, however it will reopen again the following day, as this is a DPS.
