NHS Supply Chain held its Monthly Supplier Webinar on 2nd October.
Michelle Johnson – National Clinical Director for NHS Supply Chain hosted the event and gave a good insight into the clinical priorities for NHS Supply Chain. Whilst there was the expected focus on safety, quality and patient outcomes, there was also a strong emphasis on addressing health inequalities in NHS procurement
An example of supplier involvement in a NHS Supply Chain ‘value release workshop’ was presented. BIVDA asked the question on how these are decided on and how suppliers can propose their products for these. We were advised that this query would be followed up on.
There was an update on the Supplier Dashboard and others on improvements to Supplier Communications and website information – more information is available here – which also includes how you can ensure you receive invites to future webinars which are held monthly on the first Wednesday of the month.
Matt Griffin – Head of Sourcing – provided an update on the adoption of the new Procurement Regulations. He reminded attendees of the delay to the implementation of the regulations to February 2024 and some links to learning and knowledge drops were provided in the slides.
NHS Supply Chain do have a programme of engagement with Trade Associations including BIVDA, Beth Loudon – Head of Market Access – will be representing BIVDA and its members. Please do contact Beth if you have queries or feedback that you want to have included in any NHS Supply Chain dialogue.
