The Environmental Working Party requires a new Chair as former Chair, Neil Plumridge, has joined the BIVDA secretariat as Regulatory Affairs Manager.
The Environmental Working Party monitors, informs and advocates on behalf of members, regarding chemical, environmental and sustainability legislation not just in the UK, but also the EU and globally.
The role of the chair is to chair meetings, represent members’ interests and supported by the BIVDA secretariat, organise meetings, agendas, and speakers. As chair you need a good current understanding of chemical, environmental and sustainability legislation, and an understanding of how proposed and/or implemented legislation impacts the IVD sector.
BIVDA works both to advocate on behalf of members, where legislation has an adverse impact, but to also inspire members to implement improvements in product sustainability, and product compliance with an increasing range of legislation impacting manufacture, use and disposal of IVDs.
The role of chair offers an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in sector activities and develop new skills and experiences. It offers exposure to significant stakeholders.
If interested, please nominate yourself by emailing neil.plumridge@bivda.org.uk a short precis of relevant skills and experiences, along with a statement of suitability for the role. Closing date is 1st October. In the event of multiple nominations, a vote will be taken amongst members and you will be given the opportunity to set out your candidacy further.
