Functions

The proposed functions of the IDWG are:

  • to advise MHRA on matters relating to medical devices including signal validation, advice on the safety, performance and quality of medical devices including advice on the steps up to and including moves to remove medical devices from the UK/GB market – in addition, there should be scope to provide advice on pre-market processes such as clinical investigations
  • to create and maintain oversight of specialist groups
  • any other matters relating to medical devices

The IDWG will review its performance against these core activities on an annual basis.
