This week, the MHRA have launched their business plan for the next year, with a focus on enabling access to groundbreaking new technology.
The plan has identified four strategic priorities which will dictate the plan’s successful delivery:
- Maintain public trust through transparency and proactive communication, including working to address health inequalities
- Enable healthcare access to safe and effective medical products
- Deliver scientific and regulatory excellence through strategic partnerships
- Become an agency where people flourish alongside a responsive customer service culture
The MHRA have implemented two new regulatory IT systems, SafetyConnect and RegulatoryConnect, to support their objectives by responding to new safety signals and improving interactions with stakeholders.
The plan outlines a number of KPIs and objectives which, if delivered, the MHRA claims will boost the life sciences sector and the UK’s pandemic preparedness.
While we welcome ambitions to improve the MHRA’s service, BIVDA will work to hold the MHRA to account to ensure any increase in fees is matched by an elevated level of service.
