The Department of Business and Trade (DBT) is seeking feedback from life sciences organisations and businesses on UK-China trade and investment issues, in the event of possible government-to-government engagement on trade and economic matters.
DBT is interested organisations and businesses’ thoughts on commercial, market access and policy asks for this year. Your submissions will be shared with the British Embassy Beijing, so please only submit one response to government via DBT.
DBT would be keen to hear about:
- Company-specific requests/issues – make clear where there is a specific ‘ask’ of China or where there is a commercial opportunity/partnership that both countries could welcome/announce (please make clear what could be a new announcement vs. what has previously been announced). Please also where possible quantify the economic benefit to the UK of each specific opportunity/partnership. Please include any specific draft text you would like to see made public (we will double-check with you before anything is finalised).
- Wider market access/policy asks – identify and provide surrounding detail and context to specific issues, including where possible quantifying the economic benefit to the UK.
- Background – provide any specific background on China engagement, as well as wider messaging or narrative that you would like us to consider.
Do feel free to be as ambitious and wide ranging in your response as you would like (no limit on length). Responses are to be sent by Friday 15 November to elliot.brookes-parry@businessandtrade.gov.uk.
