There are less than 3 weeks until BIVDA’s Regulatory Affairs Seminar 2026 returns on 10–11 February 2026 in Birmingham and just a few tickets are now remaining. We are pleased to announce that Kim Young, Regional Engagement Director, RAPs will present a session on The Future of Regulatory Affairs.

This year’s theme is ‘Think Locally, Act Globally’, dedicating a day each to UK and international regulation to help attendees maximise opportunities and navigate challenges related to each.

Whether you work for a start-up or a multinational, this seminar brings together regulators, manufacturers, distributors, consultants and Approved Bodies — a unique opportunity to shape the future of diagnostics regulation. This year, the closing keynote will be delivered by MHRA Chief Executive Lawrence Tallon — underlining the event’s significance for the UK diagnostics community.

Other highlights of the seminar include:

  • An opening keynote from BIVDA’s Head of Regulatory Strategy Professor Mike Messenger on International Harmonisation and why it can benefit IVD companies in the UK.

  • Insightful sessions on global regulatory convergence and innovation governance — including a presentation from Willy Fabritius (Global Head of Strategy & Business Development, SGS), covering how to leverage ISO standards like ISO 27001, ISO 56001, ISO 42001 and ISO 13485 for MedTech innovation.

  • Guidance on international harmonisation and regulatory strategies for complex diagnostics — led by Robyn Meurant (Founder & Principal Consultant, ACT-IVD), whose extensive experience spans EU IVDR, UK, Australian and LMIC regulatory frameworks.

  • Key EU updates from MedTech Europe with Director of International Affairs, Diana Kanecka
  • Many more sessions, as well as workshops on each topic to ensures attendee can dive deeply into each subject, exchange perspectives, and make practical use of shared expertise.
