
Applications for the Healthcare Science Innovation Fellowship programme have now opened.
The programme is being delivered by the NIHR HeathTech Research Centre (HRC) in Long-Term Conditions (Devices for Dignity), supported by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and Healthcare Science Cymru. The Innovation Fellowships offer an exciting opportunity for NHS Wales Healthcare Science professionals to gain experience and expertise in developing and implementing innovative technologies that improve patient care.
Fellows will benefit from:
- A structured one-year programme combining blended learning, one to one mentoring and project-based training
- Opportunity to design, lead and perform a novel innovation project
- Financial support available for project costs and meeting attendance
- Access to skills development in innovation leadership as well as technology development and adoption

Closing date for applications: 28th February 2026
Shortlisting of applications: Week commencing 2nd March 2026
Interviews of shortlisted applicants: Week commencing 9th March 2026
Successful applicants announced: 16th March 2026
Appointed Innovation Fellows start on the 12-month programme: 13th April 2026
