It was a pleasure to attend the IBMS Congress last week to catch up with our members and to also meet some potential new ones who we hope will join the BIVDA family.
It is also always brilliant to meet with contacts from across my career, albeit there are not so many of us remaining now due to age finally catching up with us. Members’ stands were brilliantly designed and staffed and it was a particular joy to gift member plaques to so many smiling faces, some of whom can be seen below.
There truly was a very positive vibe to the meeting across the four days, a feeling that was reflected by virtually all of the companies I spoke with.
There appeared to be great engagement with a mixture of delegates attending and it was particularly lovely to speak with students and trainees about possible career directions once they qualify. It does not have to mean going into a lab: there is a big wide world out there within the IVD industry that can be explored.
Overall, although very tiring, it was a terrific four days and here’s to the next one in 2027!
