Antimicrobial resistance threatens health across the human, animal, plant and environmental sectors. Diagnostics are essential to prevent infections, guide appropriate treatment and reduce unnecessary antimicrobial use. Significant gaps remain.
As part of ARREST AMR’s efforts to identify diagnostic needs across all One Health sectors, they invite you to participate in their Veterinary Sector Focus Group to help define the most pressing diagnostic needs. Your insights will guide the development of practical, impactful technologies that directly address real-world challenges.
About ARREST-AMR
ARREST-AMR is a UK-based, transdisciplinary One Health network advancing diagnostic innovation to fight AMR. We are funded by UKRI and bring together experts across sectors and disciplines to accelerate the development, evaluation and implementation of diagnostics that make a difference.
Their Focus Areas:
- Identify needs: pinpoint key pathogens, settings and technology gaps
- Innovate: advance novel diagnostics across One Health sectors
- Evaluate: standardise performance, utility and economic assessments
- Implement: overcome barriers to adoption and real-world use
- Cross-pollinate: share knowledge and best practices across sectors
Your participation will ensure that future diagnostics meet real clinical needs and help combat AMR effectively.
Meeting information:
The ARREST-AMR Network is pleased to invite you to join a Veterinary Focus Group Meeting focused on identifying critical diagnostic needs in the Veterinary Sector to better prevent and control antimicrobial resistance. Effective diagnostics are essential to guide appropriate strategies and measures, but significant gaps remain.
This session will:
- Identify priority diagnostic needs for AMR in the Veterinary Sector
- Discuss technology requirements for timely, accurate identification
- Explore practical considerations: cost-effectiveness, ease of use, and considerations around implementation.
Your expertise is vital to ensuring that future diagnostic development addresses real-world Veterinary sector challenges. Insights from this meeting will directly inform ARREST-AMR’s mission to advance impactful diagnostic solutions across One Health sectors.
