BIVDA’s Paul Fisher supported an Innovate UK Trade Mission workshop, which focussed on AMR diagnostics and therapeutics.

Throughout 2024, Innovate UK have hosted their Global Business Innovation Programme for Antimicrobial Resistance.

This initiative is aimed at businesses that focus on diagnostics and therapeutics within the area of AMR. The programme consisted of three phases; a “Get Ready” workshop, a one-week innovation visit to India and an “Exploit the Opportunity” workshop.  The programme aims helping businesses to maximise the opportunities identified in India and provide international partnership opportunities to help develop innovation and bring ideas to commercialisation.

Paul said “BIVDA recognise the importance to members of accessing international markets.  India is a key area of interest, so it was great to support this workshop.  Healthcare in India can be incredibly price-sensitive, and with private health infrastructure making up more than 60% of health infrastructure, there are some unique challengers.  We are working with FCDO on a reciprocal visit to the UK in November 2024, and look forwards to continuing to support these UK government initiatives.”
