Help inform the design of the multi-million pound Newborn Survival Prize

Challenge Works and LifeArc are conducting research to inform the design of a multi-million pound Newborn Survival Prize.

There is an unmet clinical need for diagnostic tests and equipment to improve neonatal survival. The prize aims to incentivise the development and scale-up of diagnostic tools and/or equipment to reduce deaths from neonatal sepsis in low- and middle-income countries.

Innovation in diagnostics for newborn sepsis is urgently needed, to allow faster and more accurate diagnosis.  By facilitating identification of the right antibiotic to treat critically ill babies, lives will be saved directly and indirectly by improving anti-microbial stewardship.

The team are keen to talk to diagnostics experts who can help them better understand the unmet needs, challenges, and the innovation opportunities in this area – please see their blog here for more information and reach out via email if you’d be happy to discuss this.
