The Health Tech Adoption and Acceleration Fund (HTAA) officially opened for ICS applications on 10 October and will close on the 27th. The fund allows ICSs to apply for a share of £30 million to expedite the adoption of technologies which map to local priority needs.
To further clarify, the fund is NOT for companies to apply for.
Each ICS can submit one application up to £700k and covers England only.
The following are essential criteria for that ICSs must adhere to:
- Addresses a national priority in line with the categories on the next slide.
- Accelerates the adoption of technologies that address a local unmet need.
- Has tangible benefits for patients and/or improves staff productivity.
- Recurrent funding needs from 2024 onwards will be met by the ICS.
The following are desirable criteria for proposed innovations:
- The technology is NICE recommended.
- The technology is ‘late-stage’ and can be easily incorporated into pathways to facilitate adoption at pace.
- The technology is cost saving.
- If a digital technology, it is compliant with the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria.
ICSs should be notified of approval in November, with ongoing monitoring of the adoption continuing from then until March 2024.
We suggest that you contact your local ICS if you have medical technology which tackles their local needs.
