Ashley Dalton MP, Minister for Public Health and Prevention, has resigned from her role to undergo oral chemotherapy. The MP for West Lancashire was diagnosed for a second time with breast cancer prior to her appointment in February 2025.
Longstanding Labour MP Sharon Hodgson, who first entered Parliament in 2005, has been named as Ms Dalton’s successor.
We would like to wish Ms Dalton well for her treatment and look forward to welcoming the new minister to her role.
