The Department of Health and Social Care is reaching out to industry to provide insight as part of cross-Government work exploring the supply chains of critical medical devices containing semiconductors.
While this may be outside the scope of many of our members, some may work with products that incorporate laser barcode readers or manufacture instruments ranging from self-test pregnancy kits and strip-based blood glucose meters to blood gas analysers and large laboratory equipment.
Specifically, DHSC is focusing on the following ten goods:
- Drills
- Saws
- Medical lasers
- RF ablation catheters
- Endoscopes
- Laparoscopes
- Pulse oximeters
- CGM sensors
- Pacemakers
- Implantable cardiac defibrillators
