The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has released its industry readiness survey for Value Based Procurement (VBP).
The survey has been developed with input from industry, and the information collected will help DHSC assess organisational attitudes towards VBP and guide the Department’s plans for its implementation.
Value Based Procurement is an innovative procurement approach that focuses on how a product or solution can deliver improved outcomes, reduce total costs of the patient pathway and provide long-term benefits to all partners in the system.
DHSC has worked to develop national VBP Standard Guidance which will act as an evaluation methodology with a standard bank of questions and scoring criteria for use during procurement processes.
The Guidance is currently being piloted by 13 NHS Trusts across England and will be published in Summer 2026.
- The survey should take up to 10 minutes to complete.
- Only one response per company is permitted.
- Deadline: 17:00 on Friday 27th March.
