Last week, Kaye, Dawn and Ben were treated to a tour of of the Health Services Laboratories, conducted by BIVDA’s Laboratory Standards and Scientific Affairs Adviser, David Ricketts.
Running 24/7 in the heart of London, the laboratory spans over ten floors and analyses a staggering 50,000 samples each day to ensure the capital’s patients receive vital, timely diagnoses.
It is always a thrilling experience to see such an important part of the diagnostic pathway up close and witness our members’ fantastic equipment in action. Although we won’t miss the overpowering smells of the microbiology floor!
