BIVDA meet with PPS to the Health Secretary, Deirdre Costigan MP

By April 29, 2025No Comments

BIVDA were invited to a recent breakfast meeting with Deirdre Costigan, MP for Ealing and Southall.

One of the new Labour MPs elected at the last election, Ms Costigan is a Parliamentary Private Secretary to Health Secretary Wes Streeting and in a position of significant responsibility for health policy and delivery.

At the meeting, Ms Costigan talked frankly about the challenges the government have inherited and the direction of travel for the NHS if these are not addressed. Encouragingly, without prompting, she called out the role of diagnostics in healthcare reform, specifically the early detection of cancer.

She has agreed to meet with members to talk about how innovation adoption can be improved within the NHS. More details are available at our Government Affairs Working Party on 2nd May.

Our thanks go to M+F Health for inviting us to and hosting this session.
